So I revisited my Ventura Bruno V 1584 that I purchased in the early 70s really just to work on some classical technique as a teenager. It was inexpensive when I bought it and remains so today, although I think there is some collectors interest in this type of guitar.
So here's my question: The intonation and action is actually quite good on this guitar. I've had it in the case for many years. It also has decent sound but certainly not inspiring--sort of a good student model guitar. I wish it were a bit brighter. I'm thinking I can make this work for the limited number of times I would use it--mostly for latin jazz type things.
So any thoughts about how I can wring a bit more tone out of it? Other than being more talented I'm certain I need new strings, but lack expertise in what might work best. Any thoughts? New nut?
