Unless specified, all HiFi product updates are cumulative, meaning that you only need to install the latest update “over the top” of your existing version. To install, simply click your update below and “open” the file when it has finished downloading. Follow the prompts and/or manually extract the contents to a temporary directory, then run the included .exe file.

Each update has an included “revisions.rtf” or “revisions.txt” file, located in the installation path after update, indicating the changes, fixes and enhancements specific to that version.

Open Beta updates are optional. Version/Build numbers are indicated in your application main screen and can be compared with the Version/Build numbers shown in the downloads page. By default, all Active Sky applications automatically notify you when a new official build is available, unless you’ve disabled this message in settings.

ASXP’s updates are provided as full versions that can also be downloaded and installed over the top of your existing installation to update. Please uninstall/reinstall to downgrade or perform a clean installation.

Active Sky for Prepar3D v4

ASP4 is NOT COMPATIBLE with P3Dv3. See AS16 for P3Dv3 for P3Dv3 compatibility.

If you own an AS16 for P3D license, you can use the same license for ASP4, and vice versa.

Update items install “over the top” of your existing installation. Full Version items are intended for new installations.

Active Sky 2016

AS16 for P3D is NOT COMPATIBLE with P3Dv4. See ASP4 for P3Dv4 compatibility.

If you own an ASP4 license, you can use the same license for AS16 for P3D , and vice versa.

If you need to download the original ASCA installation package or HD Content, please download from your order history at your reseller’s website, or open a HiFi support ticket with order information requesting a new download.

Active Sky Next For FSX (Non-Steam)

Active Sky Next is available in three variations: FSX (Non-Steam), Steam DLC, or P3D. Please make sure you download from the appropriate section depending on your desired variation.

This section is for the NON-Steam DLC ASN Product purchased from simulation add-on resellers other than Steam. Updates listed here DO NOT APPLY to “Active Sky Next: Steam Edition DLC” purchased through steam. See the next section for Steam Edition DLC updates.

Active Sky Next: Steam Edition DLC

This section is for the Steam DLC version of ASN purchased through Steam only as DLC for FSX:SE. Dovetail no longer supports FSX:SE addon/DLC updates so we are providing an external update here for your convenience.

Please make sure you have enabled/installed the ASN: Steam Edition DLC through Steam and have run the configuration tool at least once before running the update. Please also make sure FSX:SE and the existing ASN configuration tool/app is closed before running the update.

Active Sky Next For Prepar3D (Compatible with Prepar3D v2.5x and v3.x Only)

Active Sky Next is available in two variations: FSX or P3D. Please make sure you download from the appropriate section depending on your desired variation.

To update to SP3, first apply the SP2 Official update then the SP3 update.

* OPEN BETA software (listed with an asterisk and named OPEN BETA, if currently available, optionally) is provided as a convenience and a means to test an update before it is ready for general release. BETA software can and usually will contain bugs and other issues. Use at your own risk.

XPax pre-configured after installation for recommended default settings at the highest realism rate.

These default settings should work well for most users as long as a challenge is desired. Reducing the approval reduction sensitivity slider will make the passengers less 'fearful' of flying, and reducing it to zero will completely turn off the approval rating deduction system.

The other options will affect how the add-on operates, and are explained in detail in the Settings Screen chapter.

XPax can be installed either locally on the FS machine or remotely via SimConnect or FSUIPC/WideFS. For more information on a remote installation, please see the Networked Configuration chapter.

When using FSX, the SimConnect interface is used. XPax requires SimConnect SP1 (v. 10.0.61242.0). Please note that SimConnect SP1 is NOT properly installed by the SP2 / Acceleration upgrade. You must install SP1 (preferably BEFORE SP2) so that the proper files are installed. If you get an error about the proper SimConnect not being found, check out the SimConnect Troubleshooting chapter in the Appendix.

When using FS9, the FSUIPC interface is used. XPax requires FSUIPC v3.75 or later. XPax has been licensed for use with FSUIPC by Peter Dowson. To download or install FSUIPC 3.75 please visit the FSUIPC page at http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html. Please note that FSUIPC is NOT required for use with FSX.
